REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF THE OFOA COMMON GROUND

GENERAL RULES

1. All paid members and their accompanying guests may use the common areas. These areas include the boat ramp and surrounding land, trails, playing fields, pavilion, and the children’s playground.

2. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.

3. Non-members using the common property who are not accompanied by an OFOA member will be considered trespassers. OFOA will take action against trespassers.

4. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the common land areas except for parking in the designated areas near the pavilion and pump station areas. (Only service vehicles are allowed the use of the service roads).

5. Utility/service roads, foot trails and the common property are not for use by motorcycles, ATVs, or other motorized private vehicles.

6. Non-motorized bicycles and horses are permitted on the utility/service roads, foot trails and the common property.

7. No swimming is allowed along the common area waterfront.

8. Excessive noise or other disturbance of the peace will not be permitted.

9. Activities are allowed on the common lands from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

10. Users of all common areas, including trails, must clean up excrement left by their dogs, horses, or other domestic animals.

11. Consumption of alcohol on the common lands by those who are under the legal age limit is prohibited and is in violation of state law.

12. Vandalism, theft, or other damage to the grounds or equipment by members, their families, or guests may result in legal action, monetary restitution, and/or restriction of future use.

13. At OFOA functions, children and young people, age 16 and under, must be under the supervision of an adult family member or a designated responsible adult.

14. Keep the gate across the road to the OFOA Park(pavilion and boat ramp area ) locked at all times. Close and lock the gate after driving through. The gate may remain open for large picnics or for OFOA sponsored events but must be closed when the scheduled function is over.

15. Members must respect the 25 MPH speed limit and must request that their guests do the same.

OFOA PARK AREA


1. Reserve the pavilion by calling the grounds chairperson with the following information:

(a) which areas will be used,
(b) hours of use,
(c) purpose,
(d) needs for equipment, electricity, etc.

2. Reserving the pavilion does not guarantee exclusive use of the facilities. Two areas may be in use at the same time or individual members may launch boats, hike or otherwise use the facilities.

3. If electricity will be used, arrange to have the electric box unlocked. The member is then responsible for turning the electricity off and relocking the electric box when the event is over.

4. If OFOA sports equipment is to be used, arrange to have the storage shed opened. Return borrowed equipment to the shed in good, clean condition. Lock the shed before leaving the area. Report items that show more than normal wear to the grounds chairperson.

5. Be sure fires in the barbecue grills or the fire pit are out before leaving the area.

6. Pick up trash in reserved areas. Empty trash cans and other trash into the dumpster. Replace trash/garbage bags you used with new ones. Leave the site neat and clean.

7. If plans change, cancel reservations as soon as possible. If weather or other conditions prohibit pavilion use, the member who reserves use remains responsible for locking the shed and the electric box if those were requested.

8. All general rules apply to the reserve use of the OFOA Park area.

BOAT AND CANOE RACKS

1. All boats and canoes stored in the pavilion/boat ramp area must be on OFOA constructed boat or canoe racks.

2. OFOA members, regular or associate, may occupy boat or canoe racks as long as they pay the current annual assessment and reserve a slot with the OFOA grounds chairperson.

3. Boat or canoe owners who reserve rack space must occupy that space within 30 days of assignment or it will be assigned to the next person on the wait list.

4. Boat/canoe owners are responsible for: (1) locking their property in place, and (2) placing their names and address on the crossbar under their boat or canoe.

5. A boat or canoe slot holder must notify the OFOA grounds chairperson if a slot is to be vacant for over 30 days. Failure to notify may result in the assignment of the slot to another member.

TRAILS

1. No private motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails.

2. Trail users must refrain from dropping or throwing trash along the paths. Containers have been placed in OFOA Park area for proper disposal of trash.

3. Users must clean up after their domestic animals.

4. Trail users should be aware of property lines so as not to trespass on private property.
